1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the online payment facility of Narayani Institute of Engineering & Technology (NIET), the student, parent, applicant, employee, or other authorized user agrees to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with any of these terms, please do not proceed with the online payment.

2. Online Payment Facility

NIET provides an online payment facility for the convenient payment of applicable institutional charges, which may include:

• Admission/Application Fees
• Tuition Fees
• Examination Fees
• Registration Fees
• Hostel Fees
• Transportation Fees
• Library Fees
• Course/Training Fees
• Other Academic Fees
• Other Institutional Charges notified by NIET

Payments are processed electronically through the ICICI Bank Payment Gateway and the applicable payment method selected by the user.

3. Payment Methods

Depending on the options made available by the payment gateway, users may be able to make payments using:

• Debit Card
• Credit Card
• Net Banking
• UPI
• Other payment methods supported by ICICI Bank/payment gateway

NIET does not store complete debit card, credit card, banking passwords, UPI PINs, or other sensitive payment credentials on its website.

4. Accuracy of Information

The user is responsible for providing accurate information while making a payment, including:

• Student/Applicant Name
• Registration/Application Number
• Roll Number, where applicable
• Course/Department
• Contact Number
• Email Address
• Payment/Fee Type
• Amount and other required information

NIET shall not be responsible for errors resulting from incorrect information entered by the user.

5. Payment Confirmation

After successful completion of a transaction, the user should retain the payment confirmation, transaction reference number, receipt, or acknowledgement generated by the payment system.

Where applicable, the payment status may also be updated in the NIET system after successful confirmation from the payment gateway/bank.

If the payment amount has been debited from the user's bank account but the payment status is not updated immediately, the user should not make multiple payments without first checking the transaction status.

6. Failed or Pending Transactions

A transaction may be shown as failed, pending, cancelled, or unsuccessful due to reasons including:

• Bank server issues
• Payment gateway technical problems
• Internet connectivity problems
• Incorrect payment information
• Bank/payment provider restrictions
• Transaction timeout
• Daily transaction limits
• Insufficient account balance
• Other technical or banking-related reasons

If an amount has been debited despite the transaction being displayed as failed or pending, the user should contact NIET with the relevant transaction details for verification.

7. Duplicate Payments

Users are advised to verify their payment status before initiating another transaction.

If duplicate payments are made for the same fee or purpose, the matter will be reviewed by NIET in accordance with its applicable fee and refund policy.

8. Fees and Additional Charges

The applicable fee payable to NIET shall be as displayed on the payment page.

Any payment gateway charges, convenience fees, service charges, or other applicable charges, if imposed and displayed during the transaction, shall be borne by the user unless otherwise specified by NIET.

9. Refund and Cancellation

Payments once successfully made shall be subject to the Refund & Cancellation Policy of NIET and the applicable institutional rules.

Refunds, where applicable, shall be processed only after verification and approval by NIET.

Refunds may take reasonable processing time depending upon the payment method, bank, payment gateway, and applicable banking procedures.

10. No Unauthorized Transactions

Users must not use the payment facility for:

• Fraudulent transactions
• Unauthorized payments
• Payments using another person's financial instrument without authorization
• Any illegal activity
• Attempts to interfere with or manipulate the payment system

NIET reserves the right to investigate suspicious or unauthorized transactions and take appropriate action as permitted under applicable law.

11. Payment Gateway and Banking Services

The online payment transaction is processed through the payment gateway and relevant banking/payment service providers.

NIET shall not be responsible for temporary interruptions, technical failures, delays, transaction declines, or service unavailability caused by the bank, payment gateway, internet service provider, or other third-party service providers beyond NIET's reasonable control.

12. Transaction Security

NIET takes reasonable measures to facilitate secure online payments. However, users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their:

• Login credentials
• Debit/Credit Card details
• Net Banking credentials
• UPI PIN
• OTP
• Other authentication information

NIET staff will never request a user's OTP, UPI PIN, card PIN, CVV, password, or other confidential payment credentials.

13. Transaction Records

NIET may maintain transaction-related information for administrative, accounting, reconciliation, audit, legal, and regulatory purposes.

Users are advised to retain payment receipts and transaction reference numbers until the corresponding payment has been fully reconciled.

14. Communication

By using the online payment facility, users may receive transaction-related communications such as:

• Payment confirmation
• Payment failure notifications
• Receipt/acknowledgement
• Transaction status updates
• Refund notifications, where applicable

Such communications may be sent through email, SMS, website notifications, or other available communication channels.

15. Privacy

Information submitted while using the online payment facility shall be handled in accordance with NIET's Privacy Policy.

Users should review the Privacy Policy before using the online payment facility.

16. Third-Party Links and Services

The NIET website or payment process may involve third-party services, including banking and payment gateway services.

NIET is not responsible for the content, security, availability, or privacy practices of third-party websites or services that are outside NIET's direct control.

17. Modification of Terms

NIET reserves the right to modify, update, or revise these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.

The updated version shall become effective when published on the NIET website.

Users are advised to review these Terms & Conditions periodically.

18. Limitation of Liability

NIET shall not be liable for any loss, damage, delay, or inconvenience caused due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including:

• Bank or payment gateway failure
• Internet/network failure
• Server downtime
• Technical errors
• Transaction processing delays
• Unauthorized access caused by the user's negligence
• Incorrect information submitted by the user
• Force majeure events

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions shall limit any rights or remedies available to the user under applicable law.

19. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the applicable laws of India.

Any dispute relating to the online payment facility shall be subject to the applicable jurisdiction of the competent courts having jurisdiction over Angul, Odisha, subject to applicable law.
